Light soft pink base for naturally groomed nails

LUNA moon Cover Base N°27 is a very light colour base in the soft pink range with a milky character. It conceals discolouration and unevenness and makes nails look clean and fresh – ideal for a business manicure or as the light part of a baby boomer.

As a cover base (also called camouflage base), N°27 covers the natural nail thanks to its high pigmentation and smooths the nail plate during levelling. It is applied over a rubber base as an underlayer and then sealed with a top coat.

Application

Cuticle: Push back the cuticle. Do not shorten the shape beforehand, leave about 2 mm of length – filing is done only after levelling.
Mattify: Mattify the surface with a 220 grit file without heavy pressure or with a 100 grit buffer, perform the manicure.
Degrease: Degrease with Nail Prep, clean the nail surface and folds with a lint-free wipe or orange-wood stick. Apply primer if needed.
Rubber base: Work in a thin layer of LUNA moon Rubber Base (or Fix Base), paying attention to the cuticle and folds. Cure 60 s, do not remove the sticky layer.
Cover base: Apply Cover N°27 and level, cure 90 s.
File shape: File the shape, keeping the thickness at the edge. Then remove the sticky layer.
Top coat: Seal with a clear no-wipe top coat (e.g. LUNA moon Top Coat Non Wipe), cure 120 s, do not wipe afterwards.

Note: Cure in a 36–48 W lamp. The cover base is not suitable for straightening long nails without prior strengthening. Basic rule for levelling: thickness at the free edge approx. 0.5 mm. When slightly warmed the consistency becomes thinner; due to its elasticity minimal shrinkage is possible during wear.

Pro tip

Light bases are applied especially thinly at the cuticle – this keeps the transition inconspicuous as the nail grows out. A good ombré partner is Cover N°26.
